I feel so grateful to be able to do this project, share my story, work with some amazing people who I have painted who are wise, kind and remarkably inspirational. At the end of the day, we are all the same, all of us started from the little room with the curtains closed. Accepting my illness gave me the greatest gift of getting to know myself. I just realized I haven’t really written anything for a while…and my sincere apologies for that!   I have been away for few weeks on a well needed break. As much as I LOVE what I do, it’s always good to get away for a little while, get some prospective and new inspiration. I went to NY where my trip started grandiosely by meeting one and only Mr Brainwash who is as charming in real person as he is in all the media 🙂 For the rest of it I saw many many galleries in Chelsea area, visited MoMa and Yoko Ono’s exhibition, so full of emotion and love it still gives me goosebumps, Whitney’s museum and all the rest, let’s not forget about Brooklyn, oh yes, Morbid Anatomy Musuem? why not, as well as many other randomnesses. I am happy to be back now. I feel rested, and I cannot wait, I still have many people to meet, interview and paint and I am so excited to see the outcomes, I will be in touch again soon <3    ...

Addiction, no matter of the substance, is a terrible disease. Eating disorders alone have the highest mortality rate amongst mental illnesses. I knew all the facts already; nevertheless I never considered I would be experiencing the consequences. Yet I am sitting here writing those few words in the memory of my friend who took her life only a few weeks ago. I was debating with myself whether to write this or not and then I thought there are many people who will be able to relate and those who don’t, it may inspire. As her brother sais in his reflections she ‘was a beautiful flower who found herself within the unforgiving grip of a terrible addiction’.. She was a beautiful person in and out and I will remember her for all the kind words, support and smiles she shared with people around. As the saying goes, we can’t change the past but we can create our future. It’s about how we take our experiences forward and try and help those around, one step at a time. I would like to urge everyone to support charities like Beat and others who help addicts and their families as well as encourage further research into the illness. There are many who have successfully dealt with their addictions. It’s imperative to encourage, educate and empathize, so sufferers have better chance of creating happy and fulfilling life for themselves and this is exactly why I chose to work on my project, to hopefully inspire other people that the change is possible. Hi, so my first blog post on the website, let’s do a grand opening with a mini catch up of one of the events last week that I attended; Beat the Bank fundraising gala! Held at Mariott Hotel in Canary Wharf last week to support and raise money for Beat– Easting Disorders Charity that I will be collaborating with over the next year. It was an remarkable evening full of fun and games but also emotions as the speeches of organizer Richard Davis as well as others were very touching. It was astonishing to see everyone there being very caring and willing to support this cause. I donated one of my pieces for the live auction and feel privileged to be able to help and support. Me and my friend Lea Vendrami were sitting on lucky number seven table! in a lovely company of Gok‘s assistant and his partner and surrounded by others from Beat team, thank you for making the evening so much fun so the nerves didn’t get over me knowing my painting is going to be help up for bets as some point.   Mine and Beat’s collaboration has been announces already and everyone can still buy limited edition prints to support the charity. Spectacular evening, fabulous company and no falling over or breakages anywhere!…… so here are some pictures, enjoy!...
